Our city park basketball courts were alway used. Tennis courts in outlying parks hardly ever. Only the ones downtown seemed to be used, but that was a lot of organized tennis.

Then they found out the tennis courts were made with some toxic crud, and they recently tore them all out and resurfaced. They reduced the number of tennis courts and went the pickle ball route.

I honestly couldn’t tell you if the parks in Fort Wayne still have tennis courts, I haven’t been in any park in five or six years

My wife runs an 18 court outside tennis facility with 8 separate pickleball courts.

Ever since COVID the place is full every weekday from 6-10pm.

Weekends are tournaments.

My unofficial survey —- pickleballers drink 2x the beers of tennis players! They seem to have 3x the fun!

Exercise is good. Social interaction is good.

Beer is great.

Not sure why there's all the hating on tennis. I never played competitively, but always enjoyed it. We even painted a tennis court onto one of the parking areas of our driveway, and play a few evening games each week with the kids. Unlike softball, baseball, soccer, rugby, and football, it doesn't require organizing of teams, and is something you can enjoy into later life. Also, way more active than golf or softball.

Watching the young women bounce around on the next court isn't a terrible way to spend an hour, either.
