Fenix lights are outstanding.

Buddy dropped a Fenix PD30 in a cave once (the PD 30 has been replaced with newer models since then). it fell thru some rocks and to the cave bottom in about 10 feet of water. He went back 6 months later when the water dropped and recovered it. New battery and it worked just fine.

Keep one in each car and by the back door.

Yeah, I’ve been drooling over some of the newer models since I’ve got that discount code.

Yeah, a good blower was life changing! I used to battle my leaves from sun up to sun down in the fall, now I can do my yard in an hour or two with my commercial back pack blower. BTW a walk behind blower in addition to the back pack is another level up! (my boy helping is a big plus too!)

Yeah, that's one thing I wonder why I didn't get sooner.
Now with 3 son's and a daughter who all are a great help I wish we hadn't put off having kids for the first few years.
It's one thing to have a good tool, like the blower.
It's entirely different to have the tool AND someone that will operate it as part of family.

Funny you mentioned that. I have an old 5 cell Maglite like police used to carry I've never replaced D cells. I just now used it and still works fine. It must be 30++ years old, incandescent.

You just reminded me of my two brightest flashlights. I think my father picked these up before I was even born. You don't see many flashlights that get installed onto the battery, rather than the other way around, anymore.

They look like this, but older and cooler. Will try to pick up a battery and get a photo this week:

I had a flashlight with the big battery but with modern LED's that work so well, the batteries for these old ones cost too much and don't last that long. I bought a real good light for about $65.00 ten years ago that uses four D cells. The batteries are very expensive if you only need four, so I made up a sleeve that I insert AA cells into as they are the same length. I still get a year or more out of the smaller batteries and they are dirt cheap when you buy 48 at a time.

They used to give away adapters for AA to C or to D when you bought a bunch of rechargeables.
Now they sell them.

Guys, I hate to burst your bubble, but this cannot be true. AA‘s are not the same length as D’s. AA’s and C’s are the same nominal length (2”), but D’s are substantially longer (2-3/8”). Stack up four in a row, and you’ll have a gap of 1.5 inches, more than the spring in the rear of the flashlight will take up.

Substituting AA’s for C’s seems like a plausible option, but not D’s, unless you have a blank conductive rod to fill the gap left by the shorter length.

But I've probably a hundred or two of rechargeable AA's and only need a few D's. Thus I have many good chargers for AAA and AA, don't know if I have any that would handle D's.
