I just used this siphon air blow gun. It is much safer than siphoning the manual way.

Connect your air-hose to the siphon air blow gun and then slip on a few feet of 1/4" hose. Put the 1/4" hose into the liquid to be siphoned and squeeze the trigger momentarily.

I didn't buy it but I sure wish I had built this years before I did. Saves a lot of work.
