Both the T2410 and T2420 will come with factory cabs, though that will be after the initial launch.

Or so I've been told.

I agree with the stupid names. that is so stupid. the current models are easy to understand. TC 60 is what it should be. If i get one i will make my own decals that say TC60D and i will peel off the originals hehehe. Any idea what price these will run?

ODT - That's what I was told by a New Holland Engineer, at a local Ag show, now two dealers have said no, so I called main office New Holland the girl "in charge" said " Uhhhhh, no Uhhhh, you have to see you dealer" and " I have never heard of the T2420" Real confidence booster getting info from Corporate New Holland.

I don't want to get the 45 because it has a cab, and dealers have told me no, and then my new tractor arrives and THEN they come out with a cab on the T2420 Grrrrrr.

How difficult can this be to answer from New Holland.

The Engineer stood there and pointed out that they have to move the pedals over, so a person can exit the "CAB" from the right.

Mike,
The T2420 (TC60) 4WD / 12x12SSS / 14.9x28 AGs will list out at $25,080.
Add the EHSS Transmission and it lists at $26,072.
The 270TL loader will list out at $4,652 with SS QA bucket.

Current financing is:
0.0% Financing for up to 36 Months
5.9% Financing for 48 Months
5.9% Financing for 60 Months
6.9% Financing for 72 Months
7.25% Financing for 84 Months
7.25% Financing for 96 Months

There are also current NH discounts available for the month of March.
Dont forget the 2.9% for 96 months on the current TC55!

These units will have factory cabs later this year, my guess is mid fall. Could be sooner, could be later but they are not listed as an option in the price book so I would guess later in the fall season.

I agree the naming convention sometimes doesnt make alot of sense. When they started with the "TC##" system it made absolute sense to me and it was easy for the customer to choose based on model = HP. I would have thought that at least they could have made the new "TC60" a T2460 instead of a 2420 and the TC55 would be a T2455 and so on but that would be too easy. :)

NH has also changed thier logo recently:
newnhlogo.jpg

What do you think?

This is all part of an image branding "upgrade" if you will. All the tractors and equipment will also get new decals along with new names. Makes running a dealership lots of fun! We have to change all our literature, our business cards, our pole sign at the road, our invoices and statements, our blank work orders, our parts and service personnel uniform logos, our truck and vehicle signage and on and on. Not an inexpensive task! All in the name of progress.

I often wonder if the customer even cares. By the replies in this thread, you guys dont seem too pleased with the new tractor numbering system but I am along for the ride just as you are. As with any change, it will be fine once I let it all sink in and get it straight in my head. I'm still confused on which model loaders replace the old "LA" series.....goodness already..

Thanks Group,
Hope this helps you some,
Larry

What is up with these STUPID names?

TC55, a 55hp compact
TN60, a 60hp utility
etc

a T2420?
is that 24hp? 20hp? 42hp? Why do I have to think to decide what is what?
STUPID.

John Deere has been doing this for years. Ford also use to have a general numbering system (a 7710-II is "supposed to be 87 pto HP). You hear people complain all the time because a TN60 isn't actually 60pto hp. Heck, it isn't even 60 engine hp (only 57 gross engine hp and 45 pto hp). You go to the dealership or the website and look up the hp range you are considering and go with it.

Anytime there is a major change or a significant enough change in todays world these companies change their model names and numbers to help prevent confusion down the line when you need to buy parts. This way you go in to the dealership 15 years from now and you say you have a TN60A and they will ask you a couple standard questions as to if it is open, cab or supersteer. They don't have to worry about what serial number it is and hope you have the correct number so they give you the right part. The 1920 has two different hydraulic filters with a serial number brake. If you get the wrong one you will have a slow oil leak and air in your system.

There is a reason behind this as these companies don't like to spend money on new decals, literature and sales material unless it benifits them in the long haul.

You still have people asking what the heck TC, TD, TB, TN, TT, TL, TS, TM, TG and TJ stand for. This new system should work out in the end if people don't get upset over it.

Larry, couple of questions, you said "There are also current NH discounts available for the month of March." what are the deals for March with low interest? Also can you tell me the current list for A TC55D with EHSS so i can compare and i will do the math to see how much i save on the 55. Im not forgetting about the 55 with 2.9 thats for sure. My quick math as of now says if list prices are equal i will save $6000 in interest over 8 years. Roughly $60 a month difference. Looks like i would be gaining just 3 h.p. at the pto and looks like the same motor as the 55? Different turbo?

Oh yeah Larry, when does that 2.9% financing run out?

And if anyone has figured out the JD scheme, let me know.
because it forces me to be an expert and learn everything, when i just want basics.
Companies that force me to do their learning does not make me happy.

marketing 101
I realize nobody from NH corporate is on the board (obviously :( ) but maybe some of the sales team can take this info back
that's just stupid.

The JD scheme is similar to what NH is going to do. The 2000 series is the smallest tractors they have and the 9000 series is the largest. In this series they had the 00, 10, 20 and now 30 designations (the 9000 series is still only the 9020 as they haven't had any major upgrades to force the 30 designation yet).

The old Fords had the 10 series then they went to the 30 series so you could get a 3910 or a 3930 when they upgraded. If you have a vested interest in tractors it is easy to follow as you are around them every day. If you only want a simple tractor for working your property you go to your dealer and tell him what you want. How did you find out about the TC line that NH offered unless you went to the dealer or to the website to see what they had. And what does the Z stand for in TZ for the subcompacts (talk about confusing ask any NH dealer what the different letters mean in the tractors and you will get different answers)? The new line the 1000 or 2000 series will be the smallest model and each class size up gets a new number so 1000 (or 2000) is the smallest and the 9000 series (the TJ's) will be the largest. Seems like it would be easier for the novice to understand the tractor lines immediately.

I do know this, the big wigs at NH do watch the internet as do all the different tractor companies to see what their customers are saying about theirs and competing products.

Perhaps the 2420 is based on 2120 castings and internal parts. NH never did get the full potential out of that platform. That drivetrane could probably handle 60HP. The Ergo of the TC series is certainly a plus.
