Yes, I see on the link that it is advertised as an outdoor chopper so I guess it must have a more powerful IR than the others. Hope you had a successful day at auction.

Well, like I said earlier, this was gonna cost me. Ended up getting me Trouble. That's the name of the mini horse Grammie ended up with from us going to the auction. Didn't find the horse there, BUT got a flyer that led to this guy. Oh well, after I build him a stall, I should have time to fly the Helicopter...:confused2:

OH !!! He's a Dandy !!!

Could be Alien- He gave Grammie a bump in the butt when she was leading him around. I think she kinda liked it :p

Thinking of a practical way to use a RC Heli w/ Camera, in another thread.
Has anyone bought one the units w/ a CAM? I wonder if it would look down at a flooded piece of property
for survey puposes.

How much was it, is it worth a darn and perhaps a link to where you can buy it?

As I mentioned earlier, I got a camera I think will work, but as I also mentioned earlier, now I got a new horse and hopefully will finish his new pasture and mini-barn by the weekend. I bought a Handi-house that will work and just need to turn the door into a dutch door. They had regular stalls, but his head would be about 10 inches below the door when the top was open. ;) At this rate maybe I should have gone for renting a helicopter and had them fly over the house. :p

Better late than never I guess. Finally got to fly the helicopter with my grand daughter today (and she is a whiz at flying it). It was great, but we bent a hollow rod on it, so it is flying fine, but the vibration from the bent rod kills the camera. I ordered a new rod from xheli... and a second copter with a built in camera. After all, I can't be fussing over who's turn it is with a nine year old...

BTW Artisan, the second heli w/camera was on sale for about $55..

So WHO bent it? Hope you can put some video up sometime. hint hint
I'm SURE it must have been my Grand Daughter - I doubt that it could have been caused by me the one time it dropped like a rock from 60 feet in the air when I accidentally turned the transmitter off

Yup, I'll post a video, but will have to either get the shaft taken care of or wait for the new heli with the camera. We're going on a cruise next week (Grammie, Grand Daughter, and a former Army buddy and his family). It always works out great taking the kids and/or grand-kids. Grammie parks herself in the casino on the boat and I go get into mischef with the kids. We then all meet up for sight-seeing.

This retired stuff is hard work...:cool2:

I've been to busy with other stuff until early this morning .... it was quiet and the flying conditions where perfect ... 2 quarters taped to the front help the forward motion.

Doug ... when you turned that transmitter off ... did you get a sinking feeling?

Well, it's been a while since any postings. Have all the choppers been broken? I never got another one because my wife bought me a radio controlled electric glider. Now this spurred me on a bit and I resuscitated my little PC9 from the barn since it has been sitting there for several years and have now successfully flown it and added a gyro to the ailerons and it is a fast and fun machine. As I am unable to walk far now (spinal stenosis) I had to give up my gold prospecting and this has given me a new lease of life.
The glider is a Radian and performs remarkably well for what it is. It has had many flights now and is still in perfect condition. I just need a camera for it but I have to save my $$$ first. Hope you guys are all keeping well.
Doug

Just bought a camera after looking around at all the tiny ones. This one seems to have great reviews and I know a bloke who has one and he loves it. Takes real good quality vid and photos. I can strap this onto the glider or plane and take vids of the area. Spy Video Camera (Mini) Keychain | The Personal Security Company

I'd bought a similar unit a while back. It worked fine, when I could get it to work that is. The instructions were badly translated from Chinese and difficult to understand clearly. Had to press buttons and hold etc to get it to operate. I finally set it aside and now don't know where it is.

Hope you have better luck.

It works great Gary. In fact so good I am going to get the HD one as well. My wife thinks it is great and that is a winner for me...
It came with english instructions and it is very simple to use.
