I don't have the drillers bill yet, but it should be about $3500($11 a foot to drill, $8 a foot for casing, plus misc). With the pump etc I will be done for a little over $5K.

Motor --- I am not a math major but I believe you said you went 260 feet on the well. At $19 a foot that calculates to a tad under $5000 v. the $3500 above.

Yes it is possible. One park I worked at we had sand in our water and we had bag filters to filter most of the sand out. We still had occasional problems with sand in toilet valves. It is not something you want.

After 40' it was solid rock. I know because I watched the tailings, no sand, all dark limestone. There may be a problem though. I got the pump set at 250 ft, hooked it up and let it run to clear the mud.....then I smelled sulphur

I tried to dig the trench from the well to the house with a middle buster plow. But, I could only get it down about 10". So I took the bucket and scraped a "path' down about a foot, then hit it with the plow. Tomorrow I will shovel it out and lay the pipe & wire in the trench.

Yes, but their price was a little high($2K) for me. It was a very fair price, but I can get the whole system in, w/pressure tank valves etc for $500 cheaper if I DIY. It will take me a day, but then I will know the system intimately and do things my way. Such as hanging the pump on a 3/16th's steel cable(makes later replacement a lot easier with no chance of loosing the pump) & going to a 1hp instead of 3/4.

Don't use cable use 1/2" polypropylene rope wont rust easier on your hands ect.
It might even be cheaper.
The 1/4" that they sell for well safety rope is just that not safety to get pump out if pipe breaks not for pulling pump and pipe it will brake.
I up sized to 1/2" so I can use it to pull my pump (down 450ftand done it 2X sofar) use figure 8 knots traced they wont slip.

Ok....folks...it's official we have moderate sulphur. The well rep stopped by to give me the bill($3650) and said the aeration filter system for sulpher is $1K installed......what do y'all say????????
