Crap...thanks Obed....the shelves are up but the War Dept has been requesting a set of shelves at the end of the closet in the center. Working on a fence around her garden right now....all free from the land. Cedar posts, 2-3" diameter trees for the rail, then about a million 1" diameter sticks for the balusters. I got the idea from my In-laws in Canada who built a really cool stick fence around the garden to defeat the deer...it works!
Those cedar stick fences are everywhere in the Texas Hill Country.
hugs, Brandi

Don't forget to post pictures of the really cool stick fence. Rick

We wanted a trail down to the spring, so I figured this would be a way to clear a path and not wast all the saplings. A before pic:

The horizontal sticks at the gate are removable, they just rest on screws. The entire gate panel is removable so I can till the garden every season with the tractor. Total cost was about $10 in screws, nails & fuel/oil.......

Neat, Rick.

Those up-turned roots ought to scare away something! Get some polyester wig hair and some lips, etc., and they would be downright freaky.

There is a traditional art craft in Germany where they carve and paint gnome-like faces into the underside of tree roots.

How's the leg?

Still have a lump & it's maintaining it's own independent temperature from the rest of me while at the same time being completely numb. Freaky ain't it?

Yeah the blow-down cedar toot balls are keeping with the theme on the West porch:thumbsup:

My wife had a contusion on her thigh. It took many years for the lump to dissipate. The temperature difference I don't know about. May indicate there is some internal healing going on?

Oh heck. That is nothing like cedar stick fences down here in Texas. You have to sharpen a 2-3 inch post and hammer it in the ground side by side. When finished, you can barely see thru them.
