Well the nailer is all apart and it's the firing valve seal which is not an o-ring, but a harder opaque plastic ring which was shattered. I have a new one on the way for $13 shipped.
Rick,
You remind me of the people of yesteryear who did most things themselves, everything from building their own houses, to growing, storing, and cooking their own food, to making their own clothes and furniture.

I often think that if some calamity happened in this country that disabled the national infrastructure, our people would not have any clue how to survive. These days, many families don't know how to cook something that didn't come in a box. Most of us even pay someone to do the simple act of cutting our hair.

I cut my own hair, much to my wife's chagrin. But you are exactly right and if "we" don't figure out how to live with a lot less I fear we are going to be real sorry in the not to distant future.

So using my back up brad nailer, I finished the Man Bathroom....

Two walls done:

The third on the way:

Were you able to clean up the primer or did it leave a permanent mark?

That purple primer stains really bad. Did it come off the cedar? I'm doubting it did.

I have thought about the national calamity scenario quite a bit. There are very few people who are truly self sufficient. I know one family whose life would not change much if all modern conveniences went away. They are a family of five living on an income of 28K a year. (earned income) Barring a medical emergency they would thrive. I know quite a few others who would survive with great difficulty. The rest (90 percent) would die within the first year.

Sometimes I feel like a Neanderthal in shoes. Take away my shoes and I'd be running through the woods with a spear grunting like Tim Allen or Ron Perlman(Quest for Fire).
