The general public in general tends to put driving and driving safely on the back burner today. They tend do do distracted stuff like tacking on a cell phone or texting or primping themselves or feeding their faces while driving. That vehicle is a lethal weapon just like a firearm and need to be respected for what it it. Sadly, today, very few people do that. A lot of people today treat driving not as a priviledge but as something they are entitled to do.

My other pet peeve is all the dark colored vehicles (especially black ones) that drive in the rain or fog or a snowstorm and break neck speed with no lights on, Almost impossible to see.

Far as I'm concerned, dark colored vehicles (especially black ones) should be outlawed.

Guy across the road always buys a black pickup truck and living on a dirt road, he spends a huge amount of time washing it. Me, I have either silver or white white vehicles as they don't show the dirt that much.

I stopped on an off ramp of the freeway, to make a call and or text. Because the two lane road I was getting on had no shoulders to pull off on to make the call. State police sees me and pulls over. Tells me it is illegal to text on the freeway. I say I am on the off ramp shoulder, parked with flashers. He tells me, still illegal, you are on the freeway. Get going and don't do it again. Been my personal experience that most Michigan State Patrol officers are quite professional but the local departments are on a power trip. I refer to them as meter maids.

Trouble is with a white truck, the rust shows a lot more than a dark color.

Nah, I'd just leave it dirty. I'll take vehicles thru the car wash in the winter to get the road salt off the undercarriage, but not often in the summer. Don't own anything new enough to care if it's shiny.

What this wash you're on about? When you live a few miles away from pavement all vehicles are the color of the gravel road before you get out of the driveway. I own a black SUV, well beige it is.
