New Hampshire shotgun/rifle opened today.
Not many hunters were out there. Very quiet in the woods today, well at least until a small six pointer showed up under my stand. Actually it's a fork horn with brow tines, 130 lbs.

The antlers are nice, but you can put them in the freezer and still can't eat them./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif
Happy Hunting

Finally chiming in after a successful opening day here. I took 4 doe on opening day, they average about 100 lbs each. I never would have thought I would be done hunting after the 1st day (I'll take it though because it's giving me more time on my new 4300). I actually saw 20+ deer, which I was really suprised about with the weather pushing 70 degrees. As soon as I process these, my freezer will be packed. Lots of jerky, steaks, and new recipies this year.

I'm with Hillbilly on the antlers; not much you can do with them except pay a taxidermist too much to have them mounted. There's nothing wrong with bucks though...I just really enjoy the sport, and we eat venison all the time so I can't tell what it is wrapped in freezer paper.
