The FLU

/ The FLU #2
Pretty sure i had it in early December. Felt a little funny about 6pm friday woke up at 2:30 am and felt like i had been run over by a truck knees/hips/back were in excruciating pain then the chills and fever followed. I didn't go back to work until Thursday the following week. I felt miserable for 2 weeks and exhausted/fatigued for 3 weeks. My daughter also had it but she recovered much faster

I stopped getting the flu when I stopped getting flu shots. I used to get it BAD. Knocked me down for 10 days at a time. Twice turned into pneumonia.
Knock wood it's been almost 10 years now.
I swear by this stuff. Turned my wife, daughter brother etc on to it an all get the same results. If you catch it early, I take this with a tylenol for the headache and BAM it's gone by morning.

Always get flu shot. Christmas Day, dagnabbit, got flu. Knocked me down about 6-7 days, and still feel like I'm not 100%.

Hey, Cat, wha's that stuff? Oscilloimunnum, eh? Got to get some!

I have never in my life got a flu shot and to the best of my knowledge, I've never had the flu. I don't attribute this to being super tuff either - I think its because during flu season I avoid large crowds and crowded places. I live way out on the far edge of nowhere - I guess the flu doesn't get out this far.

Finally starting to feel sub human after many days of fever and drug induced mental instability :D

My word its easy to see how people can die with stuff like this. Now to just regain my strength I had before this will probably take a month

My son in CA just got over it- missed a week of work. I hadn't heard him ever that bad before. He said he just ached and his throat was bad. Coughed all of the time. Was on tamiflu and antibiotics. Had a temp and all of that. Couldn't hold anything down for days. Good luck to anyone who gets this one.

Yeah, I avoid crowds as much as possible and don't get off the place anymore than I have to, and try to run my errands when the crowds are smaller..............Get there early for Wal-mart, Hardware store etc. As the season progresses I'll probably stop shaking hands, even at Church.

yup got it last night. Wife has it and so does the baby. We had it tested and for this strain the flu shot provided partial immunity, fevers have been mild 100-101, though baby is over 103. Think it would have been way worse without the shot.

I've also had a bad chest cold for 3 weeks, with that plus the flu I'm coughing up a little blood

Now to get better!

I feel for you, wouldnt wish this kind of crap on anyone

So far I only picked up a head and chest cold. And that was my fault, working out in the cold and rain too much. I am lucky not to have had the flu this year.

You cannot get a rhinovirus (common cold etc...) from the elements though they may expedite the infection...

I think the verses we are getting are tests by ISIS to determine how far their real viral attach will go.

And yes I got it, ended in a sinus infection and a couple of Z-Pacs, lasted about 7 days.

AND thinking further... All the talk is feed back for ISIS to determine how well they did... !

Understand. I think the cold temps brought my immune system down.

Before anyone goes running out to buy any Oscillococcinum, do a little research on it first. It seems to be nothing more than a placebo.

No flu here yet, but how about hand foot mouth virus for fun? Ran thru all of us, me and the baby got it bad. Blisters/rash on all areas listed above including throat and tongue. Just now getting better on day 5.

We had hand foot and mouth here to as did friends in FL, seems like it was widespread. Our baby missed it somehow. I wonder if this stuff is more widespread these days with all the air travel, or if we just learn about it better thanks to the Internet.

Flu has really ramped up here, we were at the ER with my son Saturday and it was packed with cots in the hall etc, about 50% with the flu. Happy to say after about 48 hours of being unable to even really get out of bed we are all on the mend. Bad, but quick.
