I am pretty sure that it was mentioned that they put the 2 outside teeth at an angle on purpose to be able to rip closer to the edges. My question is why are not the teeth spaced evenly apart? :confused3:

Looks like it made construction more simple. By cutting one piece of plate out for the hitch pin and the ripper shank holder, it was easier to build. I wanna see what they mount that lil darling on.

Why are the two outside teeth tilted out some? Is there some kind of secret there?

I asked that same question earlier in the thread and here's what Travis replied:

"The rippers are tilted to get closer to the edge and maintain accessibility to the huge 1" pins that hold them on. "

I understand the reasoning, but I'm still not sure I like it. It looks like it would put a lot of twisting force on those outside rippers.

But it's all academic to me. I doubt I'll ever have a tractor big enough to use it, or that I'd need a box blade that big even if I had a tractor to handle it.

With Ted standing beside it that thing looks enormous, and that was only the 8' blade. I want to see a video of it moving some dirt.

If designed correctly, the angled rippers should be plenty strong. There are compact track loader tooth buckets that I've used in the past with the outside teeth angled to the side plate. Very handy and strong.

It looks like you guys answered each other's questions over the weekend. I am really anxious to see one mounted and in action also.
Hopefully we can make that happen sometime.
Travis
