The Fee-Jee mini dump truck

I was wondering if anyone has built the Fee-Jee mini dump truck that is in popular mechanics and online? I have wanted to for a long time but i'm curious on how you would do it and what you change. I sure as **** wouldn't give it 3 hp but i'm not sure If i want 13 hp gas or the same but diesel, i'd also put a winch on the bed and mabel a ram to push things off.

I'm not gifted in making things so to me it doesn't seem easy at all. I'm also not sure on the clutch or if using a heavy duty centrifugal cluctch would work.

I'm amazed at what people could and did build back then and love that you got the plans inside magazines.

I was thinking of two 4 speed transmissions out of trucks

I'm hoping to get the rear axle from a truck and use that and hopefully the brakes would be intact. I also thought about going mechanical by using the emergency system too.

Wow, seams like a lot of work. If you have a tractor with a remote I think I would just build a trailer and run the dump cylinder off of the tractor. If you wanted to use your loader to fill it you would have to unhook it from the tractor but it would be a lot easier that trying to match all that stuff to make a functional cart. Even then I have no clue how slow it would be. You wouldn't want to run your hydraulic pump at the same time as you were trying to move, at least not with a 3hp engine.

Your probably right but I don't actually have a farm and it would be more for fun anyway.
