Sorry for your loss and glad no lives were involved!! But, I agree with your "Mistake #1" ...an experienced operator would have immediately used the fell to push them back onto solid - level ground and gotten the he@@ back from the fire. Glad you had insurance, that it covered this mishap, and that you are getting a new machine. Stay safe now.

Well that sucks, glad you had the insurance. Sounds like you are upgrading a little also. Sounds like a good friend.

It's the perfect candidate for "Ran when parked."

Glad nobody got hurt, and glad you had it insured!

Another reason why no one is allowed to borrow the tractor.

Actually I am surprised the insurance would cover the tractor being used by someone else, not on your property. But what I don't understand about insurance would fill several large books.

Glad it is turning out good for you.

Dang....could have been worse. Dang...he could have ended up in the burn pit.

Good it is working out for you, both. It will be a good story to share over the coming years.

Kubota insurance covers almost everything. It may not be the cheapest option but it's usually mostly pain free. I think if it was you, not your friend, you wouldn't of gotten so close in the first place. Not so much an experienced operator thing but more a "I own it and any damage I do I'll see for the rest of the time I own it" thing. Nobody was hurt, that's the important part. A small deductible and life goes on.

This^

I lost a drain plug while brush hogging on my land and they didn't cover it because there wasn't any "damage" to cause the loss of the plug. Sounds like I should have driven it into a tree and gotten it covered????
