He was a heckuva lot easier to understand when he was singing than when he was talking.

Blizzard of Oz was my first introduction to the guy, I remember receiving that on cassette tape, as a birthday gift. Great album, for the time and genre, way better than most of the hair bands that were crowding in on that scene. Despite not listening to a whole lot of metal, I was instantly hooked on Ozzy.

I saw a few clips of the farewell and lets say some people leave the party too late. First time I saw him was 1981 (according to interwebs) in Springfield IL with Def Leppard opening. Randy Rhoads was the star of the show. I think Ozzy would agree that Randy saved his career along with Sharon being a hard ass business person. It was never the same without Randy although I think Jake E Lee wrote some good stuff. Ozzy got all the songwriting credits. The story goes he screwed Jake over because he got screwed over by Sabbath.

He was one of a kind. Along with some of his music , I also enjoyed his reality show, especially when he'd call for his wife - "Sherrinnnnn". One thing that sticks in my mind is him grumbling about being the prince of darkness while picking up a mess left by one of Sharon's little dogs

I'm one of them; the missus told me, we were both bummed out. His daughter just got engaged, too.

I remember the song but I don't remember him. The video looks like from the 80s. That was my time of struggles--Work, school, marriage, kids. I wasn't watching much music or TV.
