Okay, so he died 15 years ago. But how many have actually seen a Les Paul played by Les Paul?

The Les Paul videos/YouTube from the Iridium are great. So are the videos with Mary Ford before they split/divorced.

Some argue that Mary was a better guitarist...

Well, if you guys are going to let me get away with Les Paul, what about Chris Squire? Arguably one of the most influential bassists of all time, and the only continuous member of Yes. Died just over 9 years ago.

No one could wear a winged cape, like that giant man. :ROFLMAO:

While I enjoyed listening to the "Dead", I was hardly a "Deadhead". Reading an article about Phil Lesh passing, I can now understand his part in making the "Dead" a great band.

I'm a huge Yes fan. Chris Squire was 50% of the reason I played a Rickenbacker bass for the first 20 years of my playing (Geddy Lee of Rush being the other half). I had the great fortune to meet him (and everyone else in the band, except Steve Howe, of course) about 24 years ago after a show in St. Louis. In spite of his reputation as a hard guy to get along with, he was nothing but nice to me ... even after having just played a 3-hour show in the midwest heat and humidity. We chatted about bass player things for almost half an hour.

Billy Sherwood is doing a great job, and I've always liked Jon Davison's voice (he was awesome with Glass Hammer). However, I'm not as much of a fan of the music they're writing since Squire and Anderson left.

It's funny that I was never a fan of Anderson's voice, but without him, none of their greatest albums would sound anything like their final form. He was a huge motivating force in their songwriting and arranging.

And yes, we should mention Neil... my personal drum hero, passed in 2020.

Almost feels like the death of an old friend. Netflix has an excellent documentary "The History of the Eagles"... One of the best things I've watched in ages!
I liked most of the Eagles songs and while Hotel California was very good the best one for me was "Witchy Woman" but then that was my wife's handle back in the old CB days and of course every guy who heard her wanted to meet with her since she had that soft sexy voice. 👍
My favorite rock band
