Dennis Edwards, lead singer of the Temptations dead at 74. "My Girl", "Papa was a Rolling Stone"

I was a David Ruffin fan, and at first didn't think Edwards measured up - but he grew on me.

In Cleveland, the best place to see any soul groups was Leo's Casino, but down the street was the Versaille Motor Lodge. It was maybe six floors, and the top floor was the lounge. One night my wife and I stopped in to see the Supremes. They did their first set, and at the break, walked around the audience welcoming them and then sat at a table in the far corner, with at least a couple of guys. After the break, the Supremes came back to the stage, did a song, and then Diana Ross said they wanted to introduce the "newest members" of the group. From the corner table came two guys who put on blonde wigs and came up on stage - David Ruffin and Eddie Kendricks! They all did "Stop, In The Name of Love" - it was a GREAT show!

Wow, that brought back memories. Thanks for sharing. Buddy Holly was so influential, one can only imagine what the music would have been however good, make that excellent after he died? There are some good bio's on him if you do a search.

Thinking about that last comment about an update to include some of the other events we have endured. I think that the talent is out there to put it together. Change is so rapid these days, where to start? Blowin' in the wind I guess?
