The Bota and the Beaver doin some work!

That blue bucket some clean looking.
Nice pair of book ends.
Does that ever look cool! I wish some company would make a mini dump truck on this scale, sure would be handy.![]()
I'm working on a custom built "dump tractor" plans right now...
I've thought about building one of those, too. I think it would be quite handy, and if I ever find another small tractor for a reasonable enough price I think I'm going to do one, too. You probably already have seen this, or a similar thing, but it was new to me: Johnson 2HG dumper restoration, Petter powered dumper - diggers, dumpers, plant
There is a very informative brochure about the unit. It holds about 2/3 yard in the hopper ('skip', as they call it) with a one ton capacity. There is a thread here on TBN about converting a Shibaura built Ford 1700 into a forklift, where the builder simply swapped the side the ring gear was mounted in order to drive backward with the regular selection of forward gears.
Rear steer would make it maneuverable and easier to steer, and having the weight on the much stronger rear axle would keep things from breaking. On mine I think I will do a short scissors lift for the hopper, with a hydraulically controlled dump. This would allow precise application of things like concrete or gravel up over obstacles like retaining walls, or to pour on a level above what the hopper would normally reach.
I'm really interested to see this build, and know you have the talent and tools to do it well.
