No I don't work for the company, nor do I sell 'em, but it is worthy of a positive comment. I have had one of these for about 3 years now, but I keep running into people who have never hear of one. I think it's the greatest thing since grits and yes it cooks a turkey just like it was deep fried without using any oil. I had a oil fryer, loved the taste but hated the cost and mess of the oil. I got rid of my oil fryer 10 years ago after I had a whole 2.5 gallon jug of used oil leak out in my garage....nasty.
Then I found the Big Easy at Home Desperate one day and decided to try it. It's propane fired, has a stainless steel cook liner and a drip tray that catches all the grease. It cooks a turkey at 10 min per pound, & I have cooked a couple of dozen. I can do 3-4 turkeys on one bottle of propane, so I would say it is pretty efficient. Get a cajun injector kit and inject the bird, drop it in the basket and 2-3 hrs later it's done nice and crispy.
Anyway if anyone is interested here is the link:

Son-in-law's mother gave him one of those for Christmas last year but he never used it until the Saturday before Christmas of this year. And yes, they work quite well; takes longer and uses more propane than my original type turkey fryer, but as you said, no 2.5 to 3 gallons of oil to buy, clean up, etc.

I checked it out on the link you provided and it has rave reviews! I will put this on my have-to-have it list. I haven't used my oil fryer in years due to the cost and the mess, but love the flavor.

Have been using the larger version Costco offered some 3+ yrs ago.

IMO Big Easy cookers are great. We do the Thanksgiving turkey every year, and often use the rotisserie chicken recipe cooking 2 birds at a time.

Yes they cook quickly, part of that is a function of them heating up to cooking temp almost instantly.

Need to put alu foil on the wing tips and tips of the drumsticks or they burn since they're thin and relatively close to the outer walls of the chamber.

:laughing: You too??, I just got the "approval" but haven't went to town yet. We have been talking about this for a while now, watched an " infomercial" on a similar product that was also impressive.

Thanks M7

As I said, son-in-law got his as a Christmas gift over a year ago, and he only recently opened the box to use it just before Christmas this year. But he said he decided he'd register it online and found that it requires a number for what it cost. Naturally, as a gift, he didn't know what his mother paid for it, so he decided to look up a price on the Internet to see what sell for and he said he found prices from $79 to $120. I didn't ask which one he used.

Incidentally, his mother also has one for herself and he had used it in the past, so that's how he knew that he'd like to have one, too.
