Woodchuckc, what kind of oil do you use. Lube doesn't seem to be the issue, oil that cleens the engine is just as important.

Changes comes from the fact that run 10w30 in the summer (hot out) and 5w30 in the winter (cold out).

I have never understood using 10-30 in the summer versus 5-30W?
Both are 30W when it counts and 10W makes it harder to start. (not much harder) in the summer.

I use Pennzoil in the yellow jug for the cars, and Mobil 1 synthetic in my truck and motorcycle (at the manufacturer's recommended weights).
