Jim you ever get your new timer put together?

I got the timer/slinger and was going to install it, but my procrastination genes flared up  and made me put it off until the major part of the 100 lb of corn gets spread by the current feeder. I'd much rather work with a feeder with 25# of corn in it than one with 100#.

I drained my feeder once into my FEL to work on my feeder timer, PITA though.

Next week looks like better "outside work'n" weather, about time if you ask me, now if we could just get our Fall moisture soon.

In past years it seems that we nearly always had rain on the opening day of dove season!

Holy crap it topped out at 99F today! Where's my jacket?

We're suppose to stay below 100* today. I can't remember the last time that happen. That's better but we sure could use that rain out in the Gulf.

Someone sent my wife an email with the following text and photo. I thought it was appropriate for this thread.

Been a rough week, no rain, heat and lots of wind, but I made it so far.
How about you?

That is funny, and I bet you all can relate to that Rooster, the heat and drought has been brutal.

Funny...but you know that's about how I felt after a six-week job in Decatur with no shade in sight. Glad it's about over!

Jim, that rooster looks like he had one foot already in the fryer! Sure fit's

Looking at the NOAA weather site, seems we will be in the 80's for the high's and 50's at night next week:thumbsup:

Weird though for over 2 months I have concentrated on keeping the house cool and upgrading roof vents to better types, now I have splitting firewood on the brain which is almost as much "fun":(

Are y'all in the same state? It's 102 here. 79th day over 100 this summer.

We are trying to get the MH ready to leave Monday to the Pacific to see Yellowstone and the Grand Canyon but have hit triple digits again hear but Monday is to be high of 70. I sure do not miss the TX heat and lack of rain after 4 years in Abilene. It will be cooler when we come back by TX in Oct.

65* degrees here this morning:thumbsup: I am going to put the water to the grass while it's cool, hopefully I can get some growth before it goes dormant. I like to leave my Bermuda a little tall for winter, then give it a "buzz" in March.

Now if we could get some rain!!

Only got down to 71 here, but I just came in from watering the yard since daylight.

Big wildfires near Bastrop on the Northeast side. Wind blowing 30+mph from the Northnorthwest.
Mikem and Bernice, y'all keep a watchful eye out! I saw from hwy 290 a fire looking like it was near 21 and Old potato road.

All next week it's only supposed to get into the 80's. I can't believe how quickly it's cooling off after how hot it's been. I never thought I'd get used to 105 degrees, but now that it's only in the 90s, I've been so happy at how cool it was. I'm almost nervous about what the 80's will feel like!!!!

The fires near Bastrop have taken out over 300 homes and 14000 acres according to the latest news. My daughter has been told by the Home Depot manager that 7 of their coworkers have lost their homes to the fire so far today.

I have a cousin in the evacuated areas we have not heard from and the fires are being reported as still out of control and uncontained. It is heading toward one of the larger subdivisions in the area now.
