Serious ... rain here today recorded 2.3" all around me was .05-.09 ...and here's my extended forecast.

I may get more.

We started getting a light rain just after 6:30 p.m. this evening. Brief strong wind, thunder & lightning just before 6:45 p.m. and the power went off. About 7 p.m. I called just to be sure Oncor was aware of it and their recording said it was estimated to be back on by 9 p.m. Sure enough, it came back on about 8:57 p.m. Now all this time, the past two and a half hours, we've been getting a very light rain; about .6" so far and still sprinkling. At least it's a good slow soaking rain that will sure help my lawn.

About time and glad to hear it!

It may not rain where I am for many months... but, temps over a 100 are far and few between... thank goodness.

I am glad you got some ... the local news showed from .05-.09 all around me with a area getting from 2-3" I guess I did something right last week to be in that pocket.

Maybe we will all get another shot!!

Looks like I got a total of about two-thirds of an inch of rain. And the forecast is a chance of more every day and night for several days.

When you guys have 'normal' weather where does it 'originate' from? SoCal or Mexico or? Here we get stuff out of the Gulf of Alaska or further south and then down across WA or OR.

We got close to an inch! I think people further south like Springtown and Azle got more. As you said Bird, may be more on the way and it is certainly welcome.

I may get "frisky" today and try and get some oats in a food plot.

Well, we were on the northern edge of the heaviest storms and only got .16" again. I'll take it! Those guys in central TX still need a widespread front with good rising unstable air masses to trigger some precip for them. That should be possible by tomorrow night. Kyle and TxDon, we're pullin' for you.

BTW: I always say that if we get a good Sep. rain storm before the 19th, the rest of the fall will be normal rainfall. If we don't get it, the rest of the fall will be dry. Let's see if my theory holds up this year. This year should really put it to the test.

Guess I need to put about $35 dollars of well bought water in my pond more often. It's pouring here now.:licking: One good size patch of rain hovering over us. Hope it can stay more than 5 minutes. Wait, it's gone.
hugs, Brandi

Isn't that way it always works?

Last summer we didn't have one rain storm except for the day it poured when I was putting a new roof on the house...

Ron, I like the Rem 870 too, very reliable and simple. I have the Rem 870 3" mag as a personal SG, originally bought it for turkey hunting. I Now I use a Benelli Cordoba which is an incredible forearm:thumbsup:

I'm guessing the Rem 870 is a step up from the Single Shot Montgomery Wards Shotgun my Godfather left me?

When I started on the police department in 1964, I think the department had 3 different makes and models of 12 gauge shotguns, a result of buying on bids at different times. Anyway, they did eventually get away from that and finally had nothing but the Rem 870s. I'm not sure now, but I think that's still all they have. Very good, reliable gun.

Bird ... get any rain last night? I was woke by thunder, lighting, wind and rain around 11:30 ... I have yet to look in the gauge.

I saw some lightning once during the night and see that the NWS shows the Denton airport got .01" of rain:laughing: but my gauge is bone dry.
