On March 20, this thread gets mothballed till the Fall and the Spring/Summer thread takes it's place.
The talk this morning was If you are mad vote for Trump if you're smart vote for Cruz. Voting was crowded I had to wait 15 minutes. Our county started a new voting system, you can vote at any of the voting places in the county and both Democrats and Republicans at each place.
Thanks foreman and txdon - I'll keep an eye out for that other thread. Thank you gentlemen also for voting - it is so important.
I voted early back on Feb 16th. In and out in 10 minutes from seat, to booth, to seat of truck. I am grateful for our freedoms and was able to vote for the first time here in the States.
Back in 1993 I immigrated here from Canada LEGALLY for schooling at OU, and have stayed in God's country ever since. I decided after the politically tumultuous first half of 2014 to finally pull the trigger and naturalize as a US Citizen. 6 months of paperwork and a thousand bucks later, here I am - officially American. I love Canada still as well, but it was time to have some representation to go along with my taxation, and time to formally pledge my allegiance to the US in front of the Federal Judge... I sure wish everyone would take a few minutes to get educated on their candidates, (Local, State and Federal,) and know their positions. Then when the time comes they can go vote their conscience and be part of the solution. We have to get our national debt under control, create more jobs and businesses, and work to restore our infrastructure and industries that made America great in the first place. If you missed today's primary, please consider showing up in November to exercise your right to vote and exercise your freedoms that so many have fought and died for. God Bless America!
I'll also give you a clue as to how a Canadian Immigrant who works in the oil patch, married an Okie, and lives in Texas leans ideologically. If anyone tells you how great Europe and socialized everything is - send 'em my way for a first hand education from someone who's lived and breathed it and still has family affected daily. At least Canada was relatively conservative for the past couple decades and didn't dive into the mess that is Europe these days. Stay safe and God Bless everyone regardless of their political views!
