I can see them wanting to get rid anything that requires a person to be present.

Rick, did you ever get on Front Porch or do you want me to shoot you a PM on Bird's post?

I think what Brandi is saying is that HCTRA will be eliminating most of the cash pay booths going forward.
Correct. Cash pay booths will be going bye bye. TxTag and EZ Tag can all be linked.

I couldn't get Tx Tag toll plazas to read my EZ Tag on my windshield until I upped my minimum deposit from $40 to $50. Before I did that, I kept getting bills in the mail with handling charges and all kinds of fees. It took about 6 phone calls between all the involved toll operators to finally have a clerk tell me to increase my minimum deposit. I haven't had a problem after that.

Don is correct on EZ Tags costing $10 or $15. If you have a windshield replaced.....good luck getting the old one off and usable. A co-worker tried sticking his EZ Tag to a piece of lexan and taping it into any car he used. I am not sure how that worked out.
hugs, Brandi

No, I still am not sure on how to get access to it. Seems to be a big secret club ... or something???

I am using the new iPad app so that may be the problem?

I think we are all wanting some news on Mr. Bird's outcome if you can share.

Offer accepted on the Wharton house. No counteroffer-they took our initial.
Move in date is March 4, 2016. I need to get busy.

The drive is just under an hour-Traffic is always a bear in Houston, but according to the folks I spoke with, I will be traveling against the flow(?) in the heavier areas, and I go in early (6ish), and can leave mid afternoon, and avoid the peak hours. I can work from home a couple of days per week. Should be ok. Plus, to get what we wanted, commute was one of the sacrifices. No big deal.

Can't wait to get my hands on the barns. One is a new metal building-50X150 with 25 foot ceilings. Half the floor is concrete, the other half is dirt. Perfect for the horses. Plus it has a half bath. Second barn is 15x30. We can use that for feed and hay storage, or perhaps turn it into a home for chickens and turkeys.

Lots of fencing in my future! 3pt PHD is going to get quite the workout in the next few months.

That is a big barn, congrats on the new place.

We spent a day looking at new house's in Huntsville yesterday, they call them trailer houses but some sure are far from what I call a manufactor home. Tap/textured walls it don't even feel like one,we was talking about building a house but I just don't know yet what will do.

Congrats and good luck. What did the previous owners do with such a huge barn? My buddy has the same size down south of Victoria. His is already full of stuff. It could take him a month to clean it out.

How far outside Wharton are you? (distance to groceries, etc?) North, south east or west?

I'm hoping we hear from Bird on Tuesday. That was the date for him to return home in his original post.

You do realize the off peak time for Houston driving is between 4 am and 6 am Sunday only. :D

(Sounds like good hours - you will be OK.)

That sounds like a good travel plan. Congrats!
