Made an offer on the house in Wharton. 1944 farm house on 10 acres. The acreage is used for corn. Should be suitable for pastures once we put down some grass seed. One of the barns is ginormous. (50x150 metal with concrete floors on 1/2, dirt on the other half with electric and bathroom). Second barn is smaller (15x30) which we will use for feed and hay. 50 minutes from the office via 59 and The Beltway. Even if they don't take the inital offer, we'll lock this down by the end of the weekend. Our house closes March 3. We have movers lined up, so we need somewhere to go.

Speaking of moving think will be moving to the Leona Tx area on 120 acres, here before next school year. Probably going to down size on everything, think run about 20head,hay around 10acres and relax.

Sseelhoff,
I haven't driven the Beltway around from 59 in a few years. Never at rush hour. Have you clocked the route during rush hour? Bare in mind, any wreck in the area will put more traffic, and strain, on the Beltway. Those tolls are gonna add up. As I remember........... it's 3 toll booths from 59 to I-45.

I pay two tolls every morning on the Hardy Toll road so I can set my speed where I want it and cruise. I-45's traffic won't let me go the speed I want in the am. The tolls are worth my peace of mind. EZ Tag is the only way to go. HCTRA is changing most of the exits to EZ Tag only. Eventually, all toll booths will be EZ Tag only.

Good Luck!
hugs, Brandi

Brandi, does that mean that TXtag will no longer be accepted in Houston? I'm debating on a TXtag (used in Austin) or EZ tag and read this on a forum:

"Get TxTag because it's free (given a credit card deposit for paying tolls). EZTag requires you to pay something like $10-15 per sticker, in addition to the deposit for tolls."

Can you link me to the source that Harris county will be changing to EZ tag only?
