Blueriver is a the Michelangelo of metal. Just received a custom piece he did for us (farm sign). Looks AMAZING. It is a very intricate design, and he pulled it off beautifully. Fair price, and quick turn around.

Photos to come as I do the installation this weekend. Thanks Blueriver.

Got back from my annual pheasant hunt in Perryton, tx. Love these birds....

Got a good history lesson on how farming has evolved in that region..gone from using plows to discs to now using sweeps along with a 52' drill. They have two pivot tractors and farm 5k acres with only 2 people. Fun looking in their barns seeing all the old equipment and still have quite a few steam and horse drawn stuff...

I never did any pheasant hunting, but I'll never forget my grandfather raising pheasants. As with most people, he'd heard what a great delicacy pheasant was, so he started raising them. But after awhile, he said he quit that because it was just like eating chicken that was half the amount of meat he got from a chicken and cost twice as much for the feed to get them to a size to eat.

We're having exceptionally warm weather for this time of year, and I HOPE yesterday was my last lawnmowing for the year. I used the bagger and filled 3 contractor bags with leaves, twigs, and grass clippings.

This morning was 62 degrees going for a high of 70, and the NWS says a 70% chance of rain. I guess I can hope for rain anyway.

Installation delayed. SWMBO decided "we" wanted bark on cedar posts to hang the sign. Need 8 footers. Went to the lumber yard to get them. Sure, they have 8 foots. Their 8 footers were 1 foot short. So the send me off to Gonzales. The yard in Gonzales didn't have 8 footers either. The source them from a mill down the street. Mill is closed on Sunday. So I got the post holes dug, but no timbers for the sign. Have all the hardware and am ready to go as soon as I get my hands on the posts.
