Good news .. I got that sucker !!! Went to a local shop explained my ordeal .. He says here ya go bring it back when your done .. First try and BANG that old stubborn snap ring was off!!

Bad news ... Still got a bad front end wobble .. Made an appointment at the ford dealer for 9 am

At 55 mph I can hardly keep a hold of the steering wheel .. The wobble is terrible .. Just out of the blue it started ... Arggggg it frustrating !!!

blueriver; You have my kind of luck! Let us know what the dealer finds/says.

Had the "baked" potato for supper. Washed the potato, and left it slightly damp, so the salt would stick to it. Followed the instructions pacerron posted, and here is my report.....

It is closer to a baked potato, then just placing it in the microwave, and certainly WAY better than being in the microwave with some sort of plastic wrap, or such. Not up to oven baked, but better than I was expecting. Skin could still be crisper, but did have some crispness.

I had some mushrooms on hand, so cooked those in a little butter with garlic, and placed that over the split potato. Prepared that way, it was quite tasty and might require a repeat of the process, in the future!

Did you use Russet potatoes?

Yes, and no. It was a Russet, but it was only 1 potato. Good heavens! How much do you think I eat? :confused3:

Never much cared for RUSSIAN potatoes!!

 Right!! Has to be Irish or Yukon gold

With your mesomorph physique one big Russet potato probably makes 2-3 meals.

Good save Ron:thumbsup: you almost committed a cardinal sin:laughing:

If I don't have my own plane to fly to Oshkosh, I might take those passes! Still hoping for my own bird though. All of the "security" and TSA stuff sure puts a damper on some of the fun. I travel light, so mine would all be carry on. Screening takes longer. I want to be in the air. If I am on the ground, I want to be next to the vintage aircraft!
If we fly commercial to Oshkosh, I'll put you on my companiion passes. That way, I have more buddy passes to barter with.

He did this a week-10 days ago, and just about the time I was ready to call a search party, he posted about all of the equipment maintenance he was doing for the season. I'm hoping that is what has him away, this time too. Or maybe they made a trip to Vegas?

Ah, Yukon Gold potatoes are more like the redskin potatoes we use. Not a thick tough skin like the Burbank Russet.
Now your gettin there.

I hope it was a good save:cool:
I think she has multiple personalities, like most women, can be tough as a mama grizzly, or as sweet as an Israeli melon.:confused2:

Un-ohhh, Ron you may have to pay for the "personalities" comment. It's time to hush......no more come backs.

Like the Kevin Fowler ("Girl in a Truck") song says; "A little naughty, and a little nice!"

Maybe a blown out shock or a separated tire.

To add to what Brandi suggests, maybe alignment or loss of a wheel weight leading to a very unbalanced tire. Have you been driving on washboard ice lately? Otherwise, look for a warped brake disc.

This kind of reminds me of when I was working in my brothers' garage. A guy came in with a pickup truck and complaint of vibration. He said he'd been to the dealer and they couldn't find the problem. So my brother got it on the lift, checked it over, and told the guy he thought the problem was needing U-joints on the driveshaft. The guy was skeptical and said he'd felt those U-joints and they were tight. My brother said, yep, too tight. My brother told him what it would cost for us to replace the U-joints, then told him, and after we do it, and you test drive it, if the problem isn't fixed, you'll have new U-joints and won't us a thing. Needless to say, it fixed the problem and the guy was happy to pay for it, but that was a new one to me, too. I've replaced U-joints that were worn and loose, but I'd never thought about some too tight causing a vibration.
