SAME 40hp turbo charged 4cyl diesel w/fel
I have always liked MF so it was hard not to like this one. The open station was a drawback as I do a lot of mudder work and I got the feeling with this tractors set up I would end up getting very muddy. The tractor engine felt like it needed a bigger frame to get the most out of it. The engine was strong and fast reving with the loader being crisp with a slight hesitaton on the dump cycle until I gave it some rpm's. The trans on this one was a little rough but maybe a few hours of hard work using the tractor would smooth it out as this one only ad 1 hr on it so nothing was probably broke it. The main draw back for me was the dealer siad this 451 w/fel was in the $33k range..........$33k.....wow. Wish it was better priced but I need something in the 65hp range anyway. I like them Maseys no matter what.

Your dealer is jerking you around. The 451 is a discontinued model, that alone should be good for a couple of thousand off. I bought a 471(considerably bigger than a 451), 4wd with loader last year and it was over 5 grand cheaper than what you're being quoted. Maybe $23K would be a fair deal, but not $33.

Figures........I told hm that was the highest so far with what i looked at and he said I could not compare apples to oranges. I figured he was trying to hose me on it so i left. Thats what hurts good tractors......shady saleman. I know for a fact he told me that figure, even my 13y/o son shook his head on that one.
