Test driving the new JD

^ Now that statement baffles me. Why would a tractor kill anyone who was operating it properly? Christine? Please enlighten me.
That tractor got stuck, super easily due to the steel wheels.

Tractors were new, the farmer did not have a second one to pull out the stuck tractor.
The first thought that came to the farmers mind, was to chain a log to the two rear wheels.

The farmer hopped on the JD, and engaged the hand clutch, to drive the tractor out of being stuck,
not realizing how long it took to dis-engage the clutch,

The log would spin around, and crush the farmer.

That does not even count the farmers killed by a hand clutch JD tractor, due to rear flip over.
If you hooked a chain to any part of the back of the tractor, other than the drawbar, the tractor would easily flip over backward.

The easy flip over was because JD had designed all the mass over the rear axle, there was nothing holding the front end down.

Look how far to the rear the engine is,,,

I'm sure those back "tires" provided great traction.....but man, that must have been a rough ride on a hard surface!

Back then there weren't many hard surface roads out in the country.
