i have a bx 2230 600hr was cutting grass about a month ago looked down temp was not working . checked and found wire to sensor was broke . fixed but gauge started going back and fforth . put another wire connecter on ,still doing the same . was cutting last night and the gauge went in the red and stayed .
should i replace both the sensor and thermostat or just the sensor. (i checked the wireing best i could and couldnt find any bare spots)
thanks

You may want to blow out the rad as dust will stay in there over time. That is what happened to me 2yrs ago and when i looked closely I seen the rad was plugged up around the bottom of the rad. Just get the air to it and you will be good to go.

Use a light, you- radiator-light. Just because the radiator looks clean dose not mean so. Dust and seed can get deep into the fins.

If it is built like the BX24, check to be sure that the spade terminal on the transducer is crimped securely. The brass rivet on mine worked loose over time and lost the connection. I was able to stake it back with a small punch.
