Force is based on the square of the velocity. For example a car at 60 mph doesn’t have twice the energy of car going 30 mph but 4 times the energy.

Wind resistance is a little more complicated but similar. The wind resistance at 60 mph is 4 times greater than at 30 mph. 90 mph compared to 30 mph has 9 times the wind resistance.
