I was so stoked last night when we got home. It was late, but I still fixed the front tire, then rode it around in the dark! (It has lights)

So you bought an engine and got a mower for free. Pretty good I say.

Go over the thing with a fine tooth comb and perform the maintenance (fix everything!) and you will be in great shape for the mowing season.

That's about it!
The previous owner had a 16 acre yard he mowed with it. (Rich guy)
He took it to the dealer at the first of the season to have belts changed, blades changed, and maintenance done. (You can tell he wasn't lieing by the oil belts and blade) He said I probably wanted a new blade.. I looked and said, nope.

It was sitting in the shop with a dead battery, out of gas, and one flat. It hadn't been started since middle of last season. The battery does hold a charge, I slimed the flat, and started very easily.
It was a bit low on oil, but you could tell it was clean oil. No leaks, Runs like a champ!!

I have downloaded the manual and we are going to fine tooth it like you say. Guess I fixing to learn to pack a spindle as it is called for in the 500 hr maintenance!
Thing runs like a bat out of helli
