Clutch pressure extends ram end 16 to get drive thru the planetaries. Partial pull back of steering lever removes clutch pressure from end 16 allowing planetaries to spin free and stop drive to sprockets. Full pull back of steering lever uses clutch pressure to extend ram end 18 and apply brake on one side. Foot brake also can apply leverage on the brake levers thru bars 1 and 2 which are weak points. Either the ends brake off of 1 or the pivot point on 2 breaks. If both steering and foot brake, which use the same brakes, are bad, suspect brake pads.
