I went to my local New Holland dealership today to price a tractor. What do you think of this deal?

TC55DA 4WD $24,205
R4 Tires $2,158
18 LA Loader $3,249
QT Plate $357
42" Pallet Forks $785
3 Remote valves $600
Grill Guard $190
2 rear lights $188
72" 4in1 bucket $2530
Bolt on Edge $108
Freight/Prep $990

LIST $35,360
SELL $31,182

72" Brush cutter $1,459
70" Tiller $4,227

TOTAL $36,868

Insurance to provide 36 month 0% financing = $876

Am I getting ripped a new one, or is this what one pays?

There is also a 2% price increase if they need to order anything not in stock after March 31, 2004.

Thanks

I priced out the following options a couple of weeks ago

TC55DA 4WD
R4 Tires
18 LA Loader
QT Plate
3 Remote valves one rear and 2 loader
Grill Guard
72" HD Bucket

My Dealer in Conn. was $28,500 w ESS trans delivered, Insurance is part of finance package and sounds like what I got on TN

72" Brush cutter $1,459 sounds OK for
70" Tiller $4,227 I think you could do better with different model tiller unless you need really heavy duty. Try Land Pride etc.
forks sound Ok, my woods were $850
The $28,500 above includes delivery and setup
BTW, the TC55 is a great tractor, since what I have a 2120 is pretty much the same machine with less hp. It can do a lot of work.

Andy, is that true? Is the TC55 comparable to the 2120 but stronger? I have a few hundred hours on a 1997 2120 12X12. My only gripe about it is for it's size, the engine seems weak. I mentioned this years ago to Derek Rowski and this year he is looking for a new tractor for much the same reason. It seems it has a tough time running a snow blower he has.

I don't know the NH pricing at all - but the $800 plus for "insurance" to get 0 finance charge??? THat sounds suspiciously like up front interest to me. I got 0% on my deere a couple months ago, and the one stipulation was that I had to provide proof of homeowners insurance. It didn't cost me a thing to get the zero rate though. I'd question that charge. Sure sounds like a nice machine though, I never looked at tractors that are in that power range, just too big for my needs right now, but I sure wouldn't have minded trying one out! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

From my own observations, to what my dealer told me, to what Spencer200 has said on this board and also to what Corriher has posted on their web site, a TC48/55 is escentially a 2120 with more hp. the interesting thing is that the TC55 actually has less displacement than the 2120. Take a look at a 55, the tool box looks identical, the fuel tank is in the same location, the front axle looks the same, etc. Except for the sheet metal you'd swear you're looking at a 2120. BTW, I've never found my 2120 underpowered. Some of the later ones may have less actual power since I know there was soem kind of an engine change.

Andy, it sounds like you may have found some real evidence of similarities by doing detailed comparisons. I often wish we could see these tractors without sheetmetal and fiberglass body parts so we could do just the kind of analysis you've done.

I'm also intrigued by the price I see quoted here for the 18LA loader. The price of a 16LA loader is about $3600 to $3800, but I keep seeing the 18LA priced at $3200 to $3400. Maybe the TC55DA has less subframe components or something, but with an extra 1/2 ton of lift capacity and a cheaper price, the 18LA loader is a bargain in my book. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

The TC55DA also appears superior to a JD 4710.
More Power
More Capacity
Less Price for a similar configuration.

Still need to determine how it compares to a Kubota L5030.

That price you are see on the 18la is dealer cost so most are pricing it there and taking the profit on some other item.

Dave,

I had a price form Northland Lawn near Ashland on a JD110 of 32500 last fall with the loader, backhoe and 4in1 that I almost went for. It is a nice unit as well.

I never have found out what the specs on the la18 loader are? Is it the 2000 SAE rated one? That is a good spec?

Your 4in1 in pricey? I got mine added for $1450 total, ATI bucket and hydraulic controls. I could not believe it.

Some other info, now that I see your pricing. I got a price on a 74" KK rototiller from a local farm dealer at $1650. The dealer has a good rep and uses a 6 yr, old one to do feed plots for people. It is gear driven and they stand up. Fleet Farm sells them as well.

I have no idea what you need the most. I think some more pricing for which ever unit you feel will work is in order. I was surprised to see how much more for the R4 tires? They are standard on my L48 and I saw them on most of the tractors I looked at this weekend.

The TC55 is a nice tractor. If you decide to buy one, shop around a bit more. Just a suggestion. In the end, if you get alot of options, you will make a better choice- both in make and options.

Keep us updated.

Dave,

I had to go back to your post to finish a full response.

I see, you are not looking at a back hoe? No need? I would plan ahead in case you change your mind. Add a backhoe to those numbers and you will have a different slant on the pricing of some of the competition.

BTW I picked up a KK brush hog last fall for 565 new and a 60 hp gear box and love it. I was priced 685 for the 72" model. The price you got must be for a major heavy duty model?

Add a good Woods or Bradco back hoe to your pricing and you have a totally different story. The easy of use and on off of the BH from the other brands is hard to beat. If you don't need or want it well, forget the thought I expressed.

Lots to think about?
