UPDATE: Boy, this became a little more confusing and/or enlightening after I visited the dealer to pick up the tractor today. After they TOLD me that they had ordered a so-called "clutch cable" and was overnighting it yesterday.....around 5:30pm yesterday they called and just simply said "your tractor will be ready by 10:30am in the morning", which was this morning. No other explanation....when I asked they pushed it off on the same plan.......so i showed up around noon today, and they really wasn't going to go into much detail until i pushed it and told them what some of you guys told me.....ie:"this tractor doesn't really even have a clutch, it's kinda like an automatic with clutch packs,......etc" After I showed a bit of knowledge about the subject, it seemed to irritate them and then he proceeded to discuss it with me. He admitted he didn't put a cable on it..... that this pressure valve is operated by an electronic type switch which sends voltage to the valve.....said mine was bent by a stick or something and was putting out -0- voltage......said they adjusted it to the proper voltage and put a new spring on the pedal and it's fixed....when i mentioned that this was called an inching pedal he acted like i was crazy......sooooooooo, this was the detail scoop guys.......just ticks me off and makes me lose faith in my dealer with all of the verbal or non-verbal jargon!!!

Anyway, thanks alot guys for your help and education....if anyone has any more knowledge on this subject I would appreciate it. That price is exactly what the dealer quoted me on the manual......pricey, but i think i will need it sooner or later. Thanks for the info......This site and you guys are awesome!!!!

There is nothing crazy about that inching pedal... maybe your dealer needs to read the manual or something... anyhow I am glad that your tractor is fixed. BTW. I wouldn't be too worried about that issue as long as their mechanics are good in fixing stuff. I really think you should get a manual for that baby. Good luck!

Glad that you got your problem taken care of and understand how you must feel about communication between you and the dealer. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif Seems a few dealers don't like to give out more information than they absolutely need to, least it will educate the public and they consider that bad. They like folks like us to think that the dealer does mysterious, complicated things when they repair a tractor.

Another example of this was when our TC40D wouldn't stop when the HST pedal was released. New Holland at the time had come out with a repair "kit" consisting of mainly a heftier return spring and a few other do-dads in the kit. Some of the other TBN members asked me to get the "kit" number when my dealer did the actual repair.

My dealer knew that I was a member of TBN yet he refused to give me the reference numbers that the other members may have needed for their own Class III machines. It really made me feel uncomfortable with the dealers response, and a few members that I respect here even went so far as to recommend that I find another dealer soon. Think they were right myself, and I have moved on.
