New Holland TC48DA
I bought my tractor used about a year ago and it had no rear remotes. I would like to add 2 rear remotes. Where is the best place to get the rear remote parts or kits and how much can I expect to pay for them. Do the New Holland dealers sell kits at a reasonable price? How hard are the remotes to install also?

The only place to get a factory finish/in the fender slot kit is through New Holland.

No, they're not reasonable. About four years ago they raised the price of remote kits for TC40Ds from $200-250 each up to $500-550 each. I'm sure the TC48 prices are probably similar.

PineRidge provides the definitive install description at his web site, Adding 3 Remotes to a TC40DSS. Again, not a TC48, but it would be similar.

I have a TC48 that I bought with one remote and installed two more. Reasonable price? no...about $600 per. On the TC48/55 they come as two pieces - a valve and a completing kit, each costing more than $250. They sure are nice to have tho.

Hard to install? - no. It took a little time but was fairly straight forward. It was really nice to have an overhead gantry to take off the loaded tire. The kit instructions are set up as if you are adding one valve so if you are putting on multiple you want to figure out which bolts you need to use (you will have extras). It was over a year ago and I don't remember the exact issue I had but I ended up having to get a new stud from NH. I think I didn't pay attention which end of the stud I put in first and stripped threads off the stud.

I added a control lever to the linkage so that I could control the toplink cylinder from the back of the tractor and it has been helpful when attaching implements.

You need to decide if you want valves with detents (can stay open) or not.

I will try to attach some pictures

Good luck

"You can never be too rich or too thin. . .or have too many remotes.":D

Ya - a gantry would be nice..... although when I changed my wheel spacing I found that the load R4's stand up on their own pretty well. But I was sure nervous about one falling!

hey, on the extra control lever, is that something that you rigged up or an option with the kit?

Homemade- cobbed together. Everything in the third picture and everything below the right angle handle with the silver fitting in the fifth picture is the homemade stuff.
