It just might be me use to the tractor and wanting more but it seems like my TC45DA has lost a bit of power since new. I have 475 hours on it and it seems like it just doesn't have the same power as it did when it had less than 100 hours on it. I've put new air and fuel filters in it and no differance.

When I have the BH on it and drive it up the driveway in high it really slows down with that wieght on the tractor. When new it seemed to make it up the hill easier than it does now. Even without the BH on it really slows down going up the drive a lot more than new.

Any ideas on how I can check the power output? Maybe it's just me wanting more power after getting use to the tractor or maybe not :p

Greg, from your post it would seem that you are going into relief on the HST rather than the engine bogging and dying. If the seat is removed, there's an opening through the platform to allow access to the HST test ports. There is one port for forward and one for reverse because the transmission has both forward and reverse relief valves. The transmission should bypass when the pressure reaches 5000 psi at one of those ports. A 7000 psi gage and fittings would be ideal for testing. Of course, your dealer should be able to test that for a minimum charge.

Have a little over 1,300 hours on mine and it still has all the power I can use. All 4 tires loose grip before the engine bogs down. That's running about 2,200 /2,300 RPM.

I rarely take the BH off as I can do almost everything that needs done with attached. Since I do almost everything by myself, its kind of a pain guiding it into place and getting the pins lined up. Have done it a few times when I needed the post hole digger. Almost new hydraulic gannon just sits.

Only thing that I would like to have is a real road gear. Hate to just spin the engine to go 13MPH,

Work! The curse of the drinking class.

Thanks for the replys guys. I'll take a look at it and go talk to the dealer. Yes the motor does bog down and I have to switch it to low. Maybe it's not just my imagination :D

Ask your dealer if they have a PTO dynamometer. That should answer your question once and for all about engine output.

Brakes dragging?

barbqranch, Thanks for the tip on the dynamometer. I'll ask them when I stop by next week.

Jbrink64, I don't think the brakes are dragging as it will roll forward on an incline out of gear if the brake is not engaged. I will double check that. Thanks for the tip.
