Hi all we're thinking of adding a quick attach bucket (skid steer type)to our 2003 TC45DA with 17LA FEL it's a super steer. That way we can rent attachments from the local tool rental. Anyone know if there are any aftermarket companies that sell the parts to convert the loader and bucket and also purchase a set of forks?? I was also wondering if there are detachable teeth for the bucket available? Our F6640 has a detachable 4in1 bucket and forks but is not compatable with the skid steer quick attachments are their teeth available for this one too??

I am just going through the exact process(45D, 17LA).

500$ will get you the OEM QA, tractor side if you go through whole goods.
400$ will get you a prefabed QA pin mechanism, tractor side, ready for welding on tabs and pins
700+ will get you a prefabbed system from several places, but they make the QA stick out 2"-6", which I didn't think was so good.

I think I may make my own, and make them hydraulically actuated.

150 will get you a weld on QA attachment plate for your current bucket(ebay). I just got mine, and the quality is so-so, but the right price, and fixable.

As for forks, there are several places and companies that sell them. If you search here on TBM, you will get a pile of links.

Several places sell toothbars, but I have never purchased or used them. Markam(markham??) is the vendor, I think, that is well represented here. Again, if you do a search here, you will get a bunch of hits.

Good Luck,
Chris

I put the Kasco Uni-hitch on my original pin-on bucket and I don't really care for it, but I tolerate it. It really kicks the bottom of the bucket out and reduces breakout force. It will cost you about $300. For that price, you can buy a bucket adapter and pay someone to cut off your old pin-on mount and weld on the new plate. If I had it to do all over again, I'd go this way instead of the Kasco attachment.

I have a 5 foot bucket also that was bought as a quick attach. It feels light and strong compared to my 6' bucket with the Kasco. One thing about the Kasco that is interesting is that it gives the bucket far more rollback angle than it had with just the pin-on attachment. If I'm not careful when I raise my bucket all the way up, I can dump my load onto the hood of my tractor. That's another strike against the Kasco.

Here's a link to the Kasco:

Thanks for the info guys. We're leaning towards a toothbar for the larger tractor(F6640) that is removable to make it easier moving tailings that have been stockpiled awhile. The QA on the larger tractor has spoiled us and thats why were starting to look at changing the boomer over. Jinman I have that same rollback problem with the quick attach 4in1 bucket on my F6640. I thought it was normal condition that you have to get use to for the quick attach buckets as this was a factory installed QA setup. How much breakout power do you think you lose with the bucket mounted only a couple of inches further out?? Was it that noticable when you changed to the QA? I really can't really afford to lose any it has a hard time pushing up the manure pile as it is.

The OEM QA attachment is shown on the loader parts diagrams at Messicks.com, or newholland.com. It looks to me like it is not necessary to have the bucket extended at all.

I think most people would remove the existing pin tabs from the bucket, and weld one of the QA adapter plates to the bucket. If this is true, you ought not have a significant extension due to the QA mechansim. There really isn't any reason the bucket position couldn't be exactly the same as it is on the current pin on bucket.

That is what I am counting on, anyway. I'll let you know if it works.

Messicks also has the adapter plates(for the bucket).
