TC45d only goes 5mph

Hey all, Continuing to work on my new to me 45d, last night I drove it on the road to see how close I could get to the top speed in the manual, 13.6MPH. In range II I could only get it up to 5mph. Seems like i must be doing something wrong. Tell me I'm doing something wrong

I learned from folks here that there is also an electronic speed range switch. Should be a switch on your joystick and a switch on right side of seat. Rabbit and turtle, it defaults in turtle mode. Switch thant and put manual range lever ib two and youll be moving

ok i didn't realize that the buttons on the stick were relevant to tractor speed, i thought that was about the flow for the loader hydrolics. I had the rocker switch in high, i thought, but didn't play with the buttons on the stick.

Are you still stuck at going 5 mph? Or have you figured it out?

I moved it out of 4x4 auto and into 2wd and it goes 9mph. I figure it's due to the weight of the loader and back hoe

Is the tranmission Hydrostatic or synch shuttle? That tractor should have enough power that the loader and backhoe would not matter. So it drives faster out of 4x4 vs. 2x4? that doesn't seem right.

Do you know if it original tires? Front tire: 5.50x16 Rear tire: 13.6x24???

Yes it's hydrostatic. Yes stock tire size

Make sure your pedals are moving all the way down.

Does it go 5 mph in reverse also or does it go faster?

On my 45. The linkage gets bound up and have to lube with spray lube. I've also had a stick bend the main shaft and cause cam plate to not move correctly.


With tractor off wheel chocked. Move pedals while under tractor and look for sticks in linkage area.. look for bent cam plate. Check over and then lube
