My fuel pump went bad. I believe the root cause was the gelled/dirty fuel. My symptoms were like yours for a while, then it would only run when the tank was full, and I was driving on flat or downhill surfaces. I ended up having to repair this at the bottom of my lot.
It is an easy repair. My tractor would run on when gravity would allow the fuel to flow.
