TC40da quit and wont start

i was using my TC40 and loader to move some debris and the tractor suddenly quit and will turn over and sound like its starting until i stop turning the key. Then it fades out. The seat safety switch is fine. its getting fuel and fires fine as long as i hold the key in the starting position.

Have you set the parking brake and ensured that you're in neutral?

Does the fuel solenoid 'clunk' when to turn the key to the first "run" position, before then turning to the "start" position?

Is the tractor on level ground? How much diesel is in the tank?

What type of transmission does your model have; sync shuttle or HST?

Please understand that I'm asking in order to establish a 'base line' so that we, on TBN, can assist/suggest.

If the shut off solenoid has a 3 wire setup.. it could be that the hold circuit is bad.. as long as your holding the key it will start but as soon as you let it go, it shuts off.. just remove the solenoid to diagnose..
