I am looking at purchasing a used TC40DA from an estate sale, so the seller doesn't have to much history on the machine. While test driving the tractor I discovered the lights were not working, any of them. The seller said he would look into it and give me a call when he had them fixed. He later called and reported to me that two fuses were blown and that it was in working order now. The tractor had sat for awhile while the estate was being settled and it appears to have been power washed recently. I was wondering if anyone with this machine or any of the boomer series has had any trouble with there electrical sytems? The tractor is about 4or 5 yrs old with 700 hrs.

Vincie, I have a 2 year old TC45DA the unfortunally has had to sit outside (I know, tractor abuse) with 300 hours on it and not any electrical problems.

Vincie, the only fuse problem on these tractors is the infamous fuse #2. That fuse powers the fuel shutoff solenoid. It's normally a 7.5 or 8 amp fuse and many people find that replacing it with an auto-reset circuit breaker will cure the problem. Nobody seems to know for sure what causes this fuse to blow, but surely it is just a happenstance surge of current. When it happens, the PTO engaged light on the dash will illuminate even though the PTO lever is off. That's the giveaway sign that fuse #2 is blown.

So, if you buy this tractor, replace fuse #2 with a CB or keep several spares. Some folks have even had good results with putting a 10 amp fuse in the #2 slot. I strongly recommend the CB.

I have close to 1500 hours on my TC45D and that is the only fuse problem I have ever had. The only other electrical problems are failing glow plug timers and wires under the tractor being caught on brush and pulled loose. Make sure you get an Owner's Manual with your tractor and let us know if you have a problem. There are lots of folks here who can offer good help and advice.

Oh yes. . . welcome to TBN. No matter what tractor you buy, this site will be one of the best you'll ever find on the web.

Have not had too many problems, but when I have washed machine off, or it's set out in the rain, I have had it have funky turn signals, flasher, one on, one off, flashers flashing until it's dried out.

I have also blown a fuse. Mine had a 10A in it from the factory.
