Still looking for just the right tractor and have a question about TC40DA & 758C backhoe combination.

One of the main purposes for this tractor is going to be maintenance of .5 mile of driveway. For this purpose, I plan to purchase a box blade and install TNT.

What issues would there be with a TC40DA w/758C backhoe (it is supposed to be frame mounted) and swapping between the backhoe and the box blade? Or would there be any issues?

How difficult is it to remove/reinstall the 758C?

Are there known "issues" with the 758C?

Are there issues with my intending to use both of these implements that I am not thinking about because I don't know enough about the implements involved?

Your input and advice will be sincerely appreciated:thumbsup:

I have just purchased that exact machine you are looking at. I don't know enough about removing the hoe yet because I have not done it yet. Just getting use to the machine.

As for maintaining the road, why not try a Power rake? Check it out on youtube, they work GREAT!!!

Great tractor and BH. You can do a search on 758C, but I'm not aware of any issues with this BH. I have the smaller version and did build a dolly to make removal and installing very simple. Even without the dolly, it is a pretty easy process. Be sure, if you can, to get the manual that came with the BH, as it explains the install/removal process in detail.

Since the 3PH arms stay on the tractor with the BH installed, there is no extra steps involved with BH removal and the box blade install. MY BH is off the tractor the majority of the time. As far as using the box blade for driveway maintenance, there are hundreds of threads with great information here. Do a search with the terms box blade and driveway to see a sample.

After almost 7 years of ownership, I still love this tractor.

Removing the backhoe would be very difficult without the instructions. With them, it is easy, although the first time might take 15 or 20 minutes. Also helps IMHO to have a level place to do so.

Barry, thanx for pointing me to that thread.

I've bookmarked that for reference, in case this deal goes thru.
