TC40D Pto light stuck on

Barn cat stepped on the hazard switch and killed the battery. After charging the battery the tractor will not crank. Battery is good all the lights are bright, glow plug cycles. Parking brake set (confirmed good safety switch), range in neutral. Pto is off but Pto LIGHT IS "ON" I have tried switching the seat switch with the pto switch with no success. Any other ideas as to why the pto light would be lite on the dash?

I don't know for sure but this may be a blown fuse issue. Research this site on fuses and there locations and you may find this is the problem.

Remove instrument panel and replace fuse #2 with a 10 amp fuse or a self-resetting circuit breaker. It's a common problem.

PTO light on with PTO lever off is a sure sign fuse #2 is blown.

I just had this same problem this past weekend. I too had a barn cat step on the hazzard light switch and kill my battery, I still had all of the paw prints on the tractor to prove it. The fuze must have blown whle attempting to jump start the tractor. It cranked a couple of times then the PTO light came on. A quick search on TractorByNet for PTO Light had me going the next morning. Thanks for all of the great advice on this site.
