While mowing the other day in real thick grass/hay the tractor decided to go from range 1 hi to 1 low all by itself. The "rabitt" light is still on. The light will go to turtle if I move the toggle switch or use the loader buttons but it still stays in low range or "turtle" despite what the light says. Any ideas... fuse, selenoid, major failure...?

Thanks
Pat

Pat, most likely you (actually somethng you drove over) pulled the wire off the solenoid under the left operator's platform. With the solenoid de-energized, the transmission always stays in Turtle. I've had this happen to me a couple of times. The fuse for this is Fuse #5, but if your lights are working for Rabbit, I suspect the fuse is okay. If this is not it, post back and I'll try to come up with another idea.

This is what happened to TC45D #1 at 5 hours.
Try the fuse first.

If (when) that doesn't do it, it's the wiring harness.

Probably the fuse.

Same thing happened to me once. The wire came unplugged just like Jinman said. As I recall, it was under the platform where your left foot goes.

this has happen to be also. I also found the wires shorted out from rubbing aganist the switch so i repaired the wires and wraped a plastic wiring conduit around the wires.
