TC40D Broken return spring/ Won't start

While mowing the other day, came off cruise control and abrubtly stopped. the return spring on the forward/reverse pedals broke. I have replaced spring, but must need to reset a safet switch as the engine will not start.
Is there an emergency shutdown reset?

There is nothing in the HST pedals nor cruise control that would cause the engine to not start. However, the range selector must be returned to neutral on the left fender. Did you perhaps forget to put the selector in neutral? I just think you have another problem other than the HST pedals.

Is your engine not turning over, or is it turning over, but not starting?
