I am buying a TC40 no Super Steer. It has no loader and 16LA are hard to come by. Will a 18LA work on this unit?
Thanks.

Welcome to TBN!

That is a dealer question.

There are after market loaders for TC40's. Woods Equipment Co. is one source. I would be sure to get a loader with the quick attach set-up to allow easily changing out the bucket for other loader implements. For my use, I would also get a loader that is set-up for third function hydraulics which enables the use of things like a grapple.

The older TC40 16LA loaders (mine is a 2003) were not made with replaceable bushings for the cylinder and bucket linkage pins. When and if the pins get sloppy, and they will if you use it hard, there is no easy fix or maintenance. I would avoid loaders with no replaceable pin bushings.

I like my 17LA(for SuperSteer). The quick attach is simple. Factory loaders on tractors more than a few years old seem hard to come by though. I know why; they're a great tool; I would not sell mine...

I had a Bushhog on a previous tractor. It was a sturdy loader. Not as easy of quick attach though.
