TC35Hydro Hydraulic Leak

Repaired a hydraulic line leak yesterday after noticing my FEL seemed to move a bit slower than normal. Lost about a gallon of fluid before noticing the leak. My question is this. With loss of hydraulic fluid, will the FEL and 3PT lift fail before the hydro transmission suffers damage? Or we could word the question,if my FEL is good,is it unlikely that the hydro transmission is starved for fluid?

Technically I don't know. Like yours, my TC35D developed a leak that I didn't notice and the bucket response slowed down. Before I could get back to the truck the hydro started acting like it didn't want to go and was making noise. I topped it off and everything worked fine. I haven't noticed any issues since, and that happened five or six years ago.

Cary, I punched a hole in my HST filter with a sharp limb and fluid started spewing all over my left foot at about 200 hours. I lost 1/2 my hydraulic fluid before I made it back to the house and my HST was slipping/starving as I drove the last 500 feet. I suspect the charge pump was sending probably 1/2 air to the transmission. Anyhow, 1700+ hours later and there are no ill effects that I've ever found. I guess it's a race between the main pump and the HST pump, but since they both come off the same point in the reservoir and through the same main filter, I think your assessement is correct that if the FEL works, the HST is likely not in any danger.
