TC35D won't start

I inherited a TC35D tractor. It was running fine the other day and I shut it off. Later when I went to move it, it would not turn over.
Thought it was the ignition switch but it has been changed and still nothing. If I jumper the fuel shut off (with switch in run) and then jumper soleniod, tractor runs. I have no idea which safty switches are jumpered out etc. (Dad was a good one for getting them out of the picture)
The only thing I had to do when I inherited it was ensure tractor was in neutral. Don't have to have brake set or sitting in seat.
Unfortunately I did not inherit any of the manuals so i have no idea whats what.
When I turn the key to on, the panel lights come on (wish I knew what they all were also) but when switch is moved to start, nothing happens.
Any ideas?

When you switch the key to ON, does the PTO light illuminate on the dash panel? I think you have the infamous fuse #2 blown. Remove the two screws on each side of the dash panel and carefully lift it out. Look down inside the cowling and the fuses are on the left side. The 2nd one from the left is fuse #2. Replace it with a 10 amp, 15 amp, or best a resettable circuit breaker so it will reset itself without your having to do anything.

On all our TC35/40/45 tractors, this is a constant problem with probably at least 50 people here on TBN having reported the fuse #2 blown. You are very clever to have figured out how to jumper around this problem, but it can be fixed pretty easily with the self-reset circuit breaker.

Thanks guys you solved my problem today. I was out in the rain and unable to restart my TC35D. Came inside searched for a few minutes and found this great info. Within another 15 minutes my tractor was up and working again.

Same thing, PTO light on, not cranking .
Did a search and BINGO new fuse time ,
Started right up.
