new holland tc35d
I ran into a problem with my New Holland. It won't start because the PTO safety light is on and won't go off. The battery is fully charged and it will not turn over because the light is on. I went to the local New Holland store and purchased a new sensor switch for the PTO and installed it; however the light still remained on. Since the wiring is connected to the seat sensor I jumped it with a wire thinking that would narrow down the possible options. I came to the conclusion that the PTO sensor which is located directly underneath the PTO lever is working and so is the seat sensor. I checked the 40 amp main fuse with a DVOM and everything checks out. Has anyone ever had this problem and what else can I do? The New Holland dealer can not take the tractor into the shop for another 3 weeks. I really need the tractor working this week for the farm. If anyone has any suggestions or ran into the same problem please let me know.

Check the wires under the left (clutch petal side) floor boards.

I have checked all wiring harnesses and wires. I do not know what the problem is :(

Go to your tractor and remove the two screws holding in the instrument panel. Lift the panel out and and look on the left side under the panel and you'll see fuses. Pull the 2nd fuse from the left (Fuse #2) and replace it with a 10 amp fuse. Fuse #2 is burned out. This is a common problem on our tractors. The PTO light ON when the lever is OFF is a dead giveaway that fuse #2 is blown. Many people (myself included) replace the fuse with a 10 amp self-resetting circuit breaker. I have a picture of one in a recent post, but they have them at auto supply centers and NAPA for sure. They just fit in the same space as a fuse. This problem will now occur from time to time and the CB will save your having to pull the dash and replace the fuse.

EDIT: Fuse #2 is probably an 8-1/2 amp fuse, but it will not hurt to replace it with a 10 amp one.
